To the chant of "Break the chains of debt, now!," about 200 protesters, some carrying papier-mache puppets of IMF Managing Director Michel Camdessus, World Bank President James Wolfensohn and Uncle Sam, demanded that the IMF and the World Bank cancel the debt that poor countries owe to international institutions.
